Tis the season to be jolly. And apparently, sickly.
The holidays are the time when we come together, eat, laugh, and enjoy. Although we share many great sentiments, we unfortunately end up sharing germs as well. Is it possible to avoid the season sickness without sitting out on the festivities? The answer relies heavily on you and your habits this season, mainly because you know your body best, which brings us to our first tip:
Listen to your body; no one knows your body and how it feels quite like you. You must listen to your body and what it’s telling you. Try to avoid over-exertion this holiday season to keep yourself in tip-top shape.
Take your multivitamin plenty of sweets and treats are in rotation! We would never discourage a bit of healthy indulgence, but balance is a significant component, as with all things. Take your daily vitamin to ensure you’re receiving all the necessary nutrients to stay healthy this holiday.
Get your rest; we get it; you’ve worked hard this year and deserve to play just as hard. Although it seems like a great idea, your body didn’t get the memo. Enjoy yourself while listening to your body and understanding your limits. Rest is essential. Recharge your battery as you would your phone, full and slightly uninterrupted – at least it’s charging!
Get seen, check your calendars and book your appointments. No sense in wasting an opportunity to get and stay on the right track when it comes to your health. The holiday season is a busy time for offices everywhere., Suppose you are unable to see your primary care doctor. In that case, we urge you to take the first available appointment, even if it’s with someone else. The objective is to be seen, voice any concerns and go from there!
Wash your hands as we begin to visit with loved ones, stand a bit closer, hug a bit tighter, and let us remember to wash our hands frequently. We have to protect ourselves and those vulnerable to sickness.
Prevention is the best medicine, but if you find yourself with the pre-sick jitters, don’t fret. Contact one of our agents today to connect with a physician in your area.
